Every day, 6.7 billion people view the world through their own unique lens. Imagine if there was a way to collect all of these perspectives, to aggregate and mold them into the cohesive story of a single day on earth. Yesterday you had 24 hours to capture a snapshot of your life on camera and be part of the cinematic experiment “Life in a Day”. Kevin Macdonald, the Oscar-winning director, will edit the most compelling footage into a feature documentary film, produced by reknowned director Ridley Scott.
Last week the documentary “No Distance Left To Run” about Britpop legends Blur saw the light of day in selected cinemas. The documentary shows the rise and demise of one of the most important musical outfits the world of rock ‘n’ roll has yet to see in its lifespan. It turned out to be a lovestory between the strong friendship between Albarn and Coxon. Definitely check it out!
“Dig Out Your Soul In The Streets”, the HD documentary launched on MySpace, follows the members of Oasis as they teach their songs to street musicians to debut songs from “Dig Out Your Soul” in New York. The street bands, part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Music Under New York program, performed songs from the new album over the two weeks before the official launch date. Nice stuff here by the brothers from Manchester!
