Nuit Blanche from Spy Films on Vimeo.
Searching Vimeo for some inspiring movies, we came across this one. A melodramatic film Noir which explores two people in a fleeting moment. Two strangers revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy. It has the same look and feel as the recent short video that Prada shot for their newest menswear campaign.

YES! Here at contain.r most of us don’t say no too freebies. So here’s this one, a fantastic new track of the forthcoming album Swim (out on April 20 on City Slang) from Caribou. The track is called Odessa and Pitchfork rates the song as ‘Best New Music’ and says “Odessa”s main reference point is the icy geek disco of Hot Chip, Junior Boys, and Erlend Øye.” Well, doesn’t that sounds great?
So why wait any longer? HopHop give the guy your mail and in exchange you’ll receive this fantastic track!

The world is changing, faster then ever before. The biggest change that we have experienced over the past few years are the effects of the globalization. Basically, the only security we have is that everything is changing. Author Joop Hazenberg wrote the very interesting book Change. The book describes how to deal with the effects of globalisation and how important the next generation is in saving our planet. We are a big fan!

Last night we had another night in town. First up was NYC prohibitation favorite Apotheke, located in an old Chinese opium den hidden away nicely in a Chinatown backstreet. Drinks were great, all made with infused spirits, a bit pricy maybe (USD 15,- a drink). Place was well decorated, friendly bartenders and it had a nice little three headed jazz live band playing.

Next up was The Backroom in the Lower East Side, again it takes some time to find (you go into a basement and up a back alley staircase and there you are). Drinks here were served in tea and coffee cups and bottles of beer wrapped in a brown paper bag. Now that’s proper clandestine bar service. Drinks were ok, not as good as Apotheke.
Sayonara. More to come tommorow..

Last night, Contain.r had a good time in Lower East Sides ‘La Esquina’. A Mexican taquera, brasserie and clandestine bar in one. To enter the secret bar you’ll have to enter the tacoshop, take the stairs and walk straight down through the kitchen which is the domain of 10 Mexican dudes prepairing one of the best taco’s in town. Funny stuff.

Fabulous work from the young British designer Benjamin Hubert, who is educated at Loughborough University.
