We have already shown a example of how magazines can turn out on the iPad. So here is a bit more worked out version of the format. Hence part 2 of Future of Magazines.

The iPad hype is still there. In the US people can actually buy and use it, some innovators in Europe got one imported. Here at contain.r we’re a bit skeptical about the iPad. When it comes to magazines we just like regular old print. With a the feel and smell of paper isn’t something you can easily reproduce on a digital touch screen. Nevertheless it’s quite interesting how you can up a new format for a new device. This video explains clearly how you can make the best use of the iPad, to create a new kind of format for a digital magazine.

Creative coder Theo Watson has made a nice little application which allows you to auto post smiley’s. With the webcam the application detects if you are smiling. When it does, it posts your smiley in any text field, for example your email or Skype. So no more fake smiley’s when you’re in a email/chat conversation, using this app makes your smiley authentic and genuine.
