comme des garcons x shanabrook

Comme des Garcons plays with the juxtaposition of beauty and ugliness in their new SHIRT campaign for the upcoming spring / summer collection. Comme des Garcons invited artist Stephen J. Shanabrook to use the same technique as in his ‘Paper Surgeries’ series. We think the result created some space for innovation.

Amazing film noir

Nuit Blanche from Spy Films on Vimeo.

Searching Vimeo for some inspiring movies, we came across this one. A melodramatic film Noir which explores two people in a fleeting moment. Two strangers revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy. It has the same look and feel as the recent short video that Prada shot for their newest menswear campaign.

Nuit Blance directed by Arev Manoukian

a single man

Last week we went to the premiere screening of Tom Fordsa single man‘ at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His debut film, based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood, is an aesthetic culmination of brilliant shots and spotless styling. The setdressers improved Mad Men’s entourage and although the gay vibe is not to be missed, this film is definitely a straight friendly one too.

The Pig & The Butcher

While browsing for inspirational stuff for a new campaign we are working on, we found this video about a butcher and a pig. Truly inspiring to see how this intensly passionate butcher works with his product. Apparently after finishing this 211 pound pig, only 1 pound was thrown away.
The video was made by Quarter Productions, who also made the video we posted about earlier.

I.T is inspiration

Last summer we visited Hongkong and were very impressed with onpoint retailers I.T. Basicly they own the place when it comes down to brands like: a.p.c, Margiela, Comme des garcons, Isabel Marant, Victor & Rolf etc. So when in Hongkong be sure to check’m out.

Now they have opened their latest flagship store on ice house street. designed by architect laurent deroo of a.p.c. fame, the 3,058 sq.ft. store is dominated by shades of natural wood, contrasted by black twist metal panels that lead customers from the ground floor entrance to the basement area. The shop interior features a rough cement floor complements asymmetric arc corners formed by black aluminum panels with birch shelves. the store features a sharp mix of hot menswear and womenswear brands, including kitsuné, gareth pugh, isabel marant, viktor & rolf and rad hourani.

location: 10 ice house street, shop b10 [central].

Ommwriter from Herraiz Soto on Vimeo.

We’ve just discovered Ommwriter. A new digital way of writing that attempts to bring back the concentration. Now some of us at contain.r have a bit of a problem to concentrate when necessary so this should help a bit.

What to they have to say: “Ommwriter is a humble attempt to recapture what technology has snatched away from us today: our capacity to concentrate.

Ommwriter is a simple text processor that firmly believes in making writing a pleasure once again, vindicating the close relationship between writer and paper. The more intimate the relation, the smoother the flow of inspiration.

If you are a scriptwriter, blogger, journalist, copywriter, poet or just someone who enjoys writing, welcome back to concentrating.”

Curious?  Find out yourself..
